Maybe Bella's more than just a family dog.
Bella is our 3-year-old Golden Retriever. She’s a great family dog… which means she let’s the kids crawl all over her without complaint. I never thought of her as having any special abilities other being pretty good at anticipating trips to the beach. Then, I was home alone while my wife and the kids were away. All was quite. Bella was very subdued until the day everyone came home. Suddenly, she was energized, racing around and spending a lot of time at the door to the garage.
Of course, it’s hard to draw conclusions from a single incident, but this experience did make me much more sensitive to observing Bella’s behavior and left me wondering just how much I could discover if I paid attention.
