Gunner waited for his owner's hour-long commute‎

Although my Springer, Gunner, died a few years ago, I have a (living) witness to the fact that, although I was an hour's commute from home to and from work, upon my return, whatever time it was (I finished work at different times, almost daily), my dog was at the door waiting for me. Actually, I had a boarder, who lived in my converted garage, which had patio doors, and she told me that, unfailingly, about an hour before I returned, he would go and sit by the patio doors, watching for me. I found it hard to believe until I remembered, that, as soon as I got into my car for the drive home, I thought of seeing him again, and he just picked up the thought. We were extremely close and he had been adopted some years ago, so was very dependent upon me.
