Experiments: Anomalous Cognition and Bereavement
From OpenSourceScience
Introduction
While research has shown a link between spirituality, afterlife beliefs and the psychological well-being of the bereaved, the role of anomalous cognition (e.g. psychic communication, mediumship, deathbed visitations) has been ignored. Given the controversial nature of these topics, it is understandable that research efforts have received little attention. It's equally clear that acceptance of these forms of cognition/communication among bereavement counselors and end-of-life care providers is growing rapidly. This study will illustrate how rigorous and credible research can be conducted on a topic that, despite its controversial nature, is gaining acceptance among many bereavement counselors, and holds great interest among the patients they serve.Experiment
In the following pages we discuss how this experiment can be carried out, moving us closer to a consensus on this claimed ability. We’ll also be exploring how to web-enable this experiment making it more cost-effective and accessible to the broadest possible audience. Please join us in this discussion.
