OpenSourceScience Experiments

OpenSourceScience supports the examination and replication of controversial experiments that will improve our understanding of human consciousness. We’re interested in helping scientists develop a better understanding of the human mind.

Many prominent scientists have pointed out how incredibly difficult it is to study human consciousness, and indeed this area has generated much controversy. The most basic of these controversies is whether the mind (i.e. our experience of the world) can be entirely explained by the functioning of the brain. This question has nagged thinkers for thousands of years, yet a definitive answer still eludes us.

Within the broad field of consciousness research, OpenSourceScience focuses on experiments that are controversial within mainstream science, but still deserve our interest and attention. The first of these experiments asks whether some dogs have a way of knowing when their owners are coming home by means we do not currently understand. Experiments we're planning for the future explore mediumship and remote viewing in order to determine what, if anything, these phenomena can tell us about the nature of consciousness.

Future Experiments

We’re always evaluating potential OpenSourceScience experiments. We’re interested in experiments that:

  • Significantly contribute to our understanding of human consciousness
  • Build upon previous, or ongoing research.
  • Are cost-effective.
  • Are web-enabled and would benefit from OpenSourceScience collaboration.

If you would like to participate in our experiments as a researcher, or suggest an experiment for consideration please complete a Grant Proposal.
